CRISPR/Cas9 Gene Editing (09/10/2017 Discussion)

Hi everyone! Sorry for the first forum of the year being so late; the SFUO did not start giving clubs room access until last Friday. At yesterday nights forum (which we will send an email announcing earlier in the future), we spoke about a popular topic of great interest to many of us here, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing! The material for the topic was taken from multiple resources (check out our resource section to look for more information on it), but particularly in this article by Vox.

As a reminder, this Thursday there will be a roundtable discussion on the biological, legal, and social implications of CRISPR and how it’s transforming genetic engineering this Thursday, with two of Canada’s research chairs attending. Check it out!
